About the Role

Our Nordic In-House Brands division is looking for a driven and enthusiastic new team member to join us with the mission to shape the future product offering in the Nordic market across several sub-categories within skincare. 

For the role as Product Development Manager In-House Brands, you will be responsible for defining, developing and driving relevant and commercial products that meet the targets for growth and profitability within our portfolio of In-House brands across the Matas and Kicks retail banners. You will be responsible for leading your own category, focus on developing and growing established brands such as Matas Striberne and Matas Natur, across multiple sub-categories (e.g. Sun Care, Men, Baby).

You will be the eyes and ears towards the outside world, monitoring trends, market dynamics, and consumer buying behavior together with your colleagues and strategic suppliers, to ensure an ambitious innovation plan. In your daily work, you aim to always push the standards for product ingredients and packaging, to ensure that we have the best customer offer within the Nordic Beauty market.

The role is a temporary contract for 12 months with potential for permanent hiring within the organization and is located at our Matas Group HQ in Allerød, Denmark. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Development, management and optimization of the appointed product categories to secure a commercial and relevant customer offer – from idea to launch readiness incl. cross-functional coordination, both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Securing that the products reflect the brand identity and fulfill the brand promise
  • Accountable for meeting targets for cost, quality, timing, and ESG measures
  • Being a strong contributor to the Group’s ingredient policy and continuous development hereof as well as owning and driving recommendations of relevant product certification (e.g. The Nordic Swan).
  • Being a front runner of new products and sub-categories based on close collaboration with Category, as well as being in touch with what is happening in the local markets within the relevant and adjacent categories
  • Collaborating closely with counterparts in the related functions such as controlling, quality, marketing, logistics, sourcing, commercial activation, category management as well as external strategic partners

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within product development, brand management or project manager in relevant industry
  • Relevant university degree within business or innovation
  • Strong Business sense and a result-oriented mindset
  • Analytical skills combined with an interest in trends and design
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple projects simultaneously and several stakeholders and geographical locations
  • Approach challenges with a solution-oriented mind-set
  • Experience within skincare, and Sun Care in particular, is a plus.
  • Language skills: Danish and English is a requirement, Swedish proficiency is a plus.
