Matas Group is looking for a Datacenter Specialist – Hybrid Infrastructure & Microsoft 365
We are looking for an experienced Datacenter Specialist to manage and optimize our local datacenter in Denmark and our fully partner managed datacenter in Sweden. This role will ensure secure connectivity, robust identity management, and backend support for Microsoft 365 services. The ideal candidate will also drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption across both environments in close collaboration with our Azure team.
Key Responsibilities
Datacenter Operations
- Maintain physical servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix), and storage in our Danish datacenter.
- Ensure sufficient and compliant setup for our partner managed datacenter in Sweden.
- Take on lifecycle management responsibility, including patching of Windows servers.
- Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies in collaboration with our Resilience and Recovery specialist.
Hybrid Infrastructure Management
- Design and maintain connectivity between local datacenter and Azure.
- Support identity synchronization (Azure AD Connect) and mail flow.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Collaborate with Azure team to implement Bicep templates for Azure deployments.
- Use PowerShell DSC for on-prem automation.
- Integrate IaC into CI/CD pipelines for consistent deployments.
Active Directory & Identity
- Manage on-prem AD and Azure AD integration in collaboration with the Azure team.
- Implement and maintain Group Policies, MFA, and Conditional Access.
Microsoft 365 Backend
- Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams backend.
- Troubleshoot hybrid configurations and directory sync issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and hybrid identity.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams).
- Experienced in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V and Nutanix).
- Able to handle lifecycle management of servers and patch management.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with IaC tools: Bicep (Azure), and DSC.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator.
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert.
