Bridge platform direction and high-quality execution
As Technical Business Lead, you will sit at the heart of our digital delivery organisation, connecting platform direction with day-to-day development. Reporting to the Head of Digital Platform, you will be part of the Digital Platform Team, consisting of 10 close colleagues.

You will act as the operational link between the Platform Owner and the development team, working closely with Tech Leads, Product Design & Analytics, and relevant business stakeholders. The Product Owner owns the vision, customer value and commercial priorities, while the Platform Owner owns the technical platform, roadmap, and prioritisation. Your role is to turn these priorities into clear, development-ready work and drive effective execution.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of business and technology. By resolving ambiguity, removing obstacles and keeping delivery moving, you will help reduce delays and rework and contribute to more predictable, high-quality delivery.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Prepare and refine the backlog

• Turn requirements and solution concepts into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring prioritised work is sufficiently defined before development.
• Drive backlog refinement with the Platform Owner, Tech Lead and development team, resolving gaps and dependencies and ensuring relevant UX/UI, analytics, technical and operational considerations are covered.

Drive day-to-day delivery

• Drive daily sprint execution, including progress, sequencing and removal of blockers, in close collaboration with the Tech Lead and development team.
• Act as the primary functional point of contact during execution, resolving questions quickly and documenting key decisions and clarifications in the backlog.
• Escalate decisions on priority, scope, or platform direction to the Platform Owner when needed.

Support solution development

• Work with the Platform Owner, Tech Lead, Product Design & Analytics and business stakeholders to shape pragmatic solutions.
• Challenge unclear or unnecessarily complex requirements and balance business and user needs with technical feasibility and time-to-market.
• Identify dependencies across systems, platforms, and teams early.

Support estimation and planning

• Prepare work to enable credible estimates and provide transparency on complexity, dependencies and delivery risks.
• Support the Platform Owner with capacity implications and contribute to quarterly planning with a clear view of readiness and delivery constraints.

Ensure quality and acceptance

• Ensure delivered functionality meets agreed requirements and acceptance criteria, including functional validation and acceptance testing where relevant.
• Coordinate with Product Design & Analytics to support correct UX/UI implementation and feed learnings from delivered work into future backlog items.

The role comes with a strong execution mandate within the direction set by the Platform Owner, including the authority to clarify requirements, make day-to-day functional decisions, and coordinate implementation details.

A delivery-focused profile who thrives between business and technology
We are looking for someone who understands what good software delivery looks like and is comfortable navigating both business needs and technical discussions. The ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and translate complexity into action will be key.

Relevant experience and capabilities include:

• Experience working closely with software development teams.
• Strong experience with requirements, user stories, and backlog refinement.
• A solid understanding of digital products, platforms, and customer journeys.
• Experience working across business, UX/UI and technology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience from e-commerce, digital products or platform organisations

As a person, you bring a strong execution mindset and take ownership when something is unclear. You communicate clearly across technical and commercial stakeholders, build trust with developers and business partners, and take a pragmatic approach to getting things done. You are comfortable challenging assumptions and avoiding unnecessary processes.
